This book goes into great detail in describing some of Calatrava's greatest architectural pieces. There are photographs (night and day shots) accompanying the CAD plans. It a great book to look through and learn from.

About the Author
Martin Murray was a respected Logistics consultant and worked with IBM for more than 15 years. He joined the computer industry upon his graduation from Middlesex University in 1986. In 1991, he began working with SAP R/2 in the materials management are for a London-based multinational beverage company, and in 1994 he moved to the United States to work as an SAP R/3 consultant.

Jawad Akhtar works as the SAP Leader for Business Sales and Delivery at IBM Pakistan. He earned a chemical engineering degree from Missouri University of Science and Technology (USA) in 1996. He has more than 18 years of professional experience and has completed several large-scale SAP implementations and rollout lifecycles. He has led large teams in his roles as an SAP integration manager and SAP project manager, and has also been proactively involved in business development and solution architect roles. He is the technical adviser to SAPexperts and is a prolific contributor to SearchSAP, where he shares his views on logistics, supply chain management (SCM), product lifecycle management (PLM), and project management.

Good overview, but lacks in informing / demonstrating how the user can interact more effectively with SAP

The authors provide a very cursory review of the basic functions of SAP MM module.
The physical properties of the book - the typeset is excellent, pages made of thick paper stock, bold, easy to read high contract. The writing style, for the most part, is very clear and precise; written in neutral, third person, thereby saving the reader from weeding out several thousand useless "you" "and "your" or "yours" and the other useless words that would accompany them. Comparing its style to the computer book genre in general, it is well written.
Screen shots and tables are very clear and also easy to read.
The business cases offered to demonstrate the practical application of the concept discussed are repetitious, shallow and add generally very little to reinforce the user's knowledge or proficiency.
The value of this book could have been enhanced by availing to the reader/user knowledge on how to interact with SAP in a typical environment, for example, showing how to execute the various transaction codes identified in the book, how to generate various user reports, how to perform tasks more effectively and efficiently, such as basic reports, queries, programmed reports, mass uploads, mass changes, etc.
The book will definitely increase the readers knowledge of SAP, thus buying and reading it was definitely a worthwhile investment in resources, however, it will not be serve me as a handbook which I intend to consult on regular basis.

One of the Best Social Studies Books for Fifth Graders!

When I taught fifth grade this was one of my students' favorite books. It has a marvelous concept (the whole story takes place in 24 hours) and the tension builds to an incredible climax. Avi has won many awards for writing and deservedly so. This book initiates excellent discussions about the incredible conflicting emotions attached to any war. A great model for descriptive writing as well.

War Time

All my life I have never read books like Avi's. She makes her books so thrilling and exciting. The historical fiction book The Fighting Ground by Avi is an enjoyable book. I could not stop reading it when I was at the end of a chapter. Some other great books that Avi has written are: Christmas Rat, S.O.R Losers, Good Dog, and a whole lot of other books. There is a German Translator in the back of the book so you know what the Germans are saying.

Jonathan is 13 and knows how to handle a gun. When he fights he learns what

it's like to be in the army and be a soldier. When Jonathan wants to fight his dad can't believe it, but that doesn't change Jonathan's mind. Jonathan goes to the tavern and the people think he is too young. When he is fighting it seems like he is older and can fight like a man. Everyone is asking where Jonathan's Dad is because he was sore and couldn't make it to the war. When the war starts he begins to get into more and more trouble. When the war came it had changed his life forever.

In this book the characters are so believable. In some of the parts of the book you could see where he is and be in his shoes. If you imagine real hard you can see all the details of where the characters are. Such as when the Germans are surrounding him and he can't escape you can see the Germans surrounding him and speaking German. I also saw when the soldiers where coming around the corner because you could see the other soldiers with their guns. I would be scared too if I were him.

Also in this story there is a lot of suspense. You have to keep reading or you will think about it when you're not reading it. I could not stop reading it when I read it. One part that kept me on the edge of my seat was when the other soldiers were coming and the corporal yelled fire and the chapter ended. Another part that I couldn't stop reading was the part was when the Germans were surrounding Jonathan and was talking all this German language, good thing there was a translator. This book was so well written I was done real quickly

Avi is a great author and I enjoy reading her books. All of her books are outrageous especially this one. When you read this book you will feel the suspense that I felt in this book. This book is jammed with exiting action parts that makes you not stop reading it. I recommend you getting this book because of the parts that leave you hanging and the exciting parts in this book. I guarantee you will finish this book real quickly or you will be on the ground because you were left hanging so much.
