Raymond A. Serway (PhD, Illinois Institute of Technology) is Professor Emeritus at James Madison University. His honors and awards include an honorary doctorate degree from his alma mater, Utica College, the 1990 Madison Scholar Award at James Madison University, the Distinguished Teaching Award at Clarkson University in 1977, and the Alumni Achievement Award from Utica College in 1985. As Guest Scientist at the IBM Research Laboratory in Zurich, Switzerland, he worked with K. Alex M�ller, 1987 Nobel Prize recipient. He was a visiting scientist at Argonne National Laboratory, where he collaborated with his mentor and friend, the late Sam Marshall. Dr. Serway is the coauthor of COLLEGE PHYSICS, Eleventh Edition; PHYSICS FOR SCIENTISTS AND ENGINEERS, Ninth Edition; PRINCIPLES OF PHYSICS, Fifth Edition; ESSENTIALS OF COLLEGE PHYSICS; MODERN PHYSICS, Third Edition; and the high school textbook PHYSICS, published by Holt McDougal. He has published more than 40 research papers in the field of condensed matter physics and has given more than 60 presentations at professional meetings.

Chris Vuille (PhD, University of Florida) is associate professor of physics at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the world's premier institution for aviation higher education. While he has taught courses at all levels, including postgraduate, his primary interest is the teaching of introductory physics courses. He conducts research in general relativity, astrophysics, cosmology, and quantum theory and was a participant in a special three-year NASA grant program where he studied properties of neutron stars. His work has appeared in many scientific journals and in ANALOG SCIENCE FICTION/SCIENCE FACT magazine. He is the coauthor of COLLEGE PHYSICS, Eleventh Edition and ESSENTIALS OF COLLEGE PHYSICS.

Utilising a detailed qualitative case study methodology, this book incorporates theoretical foundations that expand upon Fairclough's path-breaking research on media discourse and Todorov's broadly articulated framework of fantasy in order to explore: Which elements of Fairclough's framework for critical discourse analysis can be applied to explore the discursive structures within these American fantasy films? How far do the films follow Reaganist concepts of a "new" American society? How far do notions of the "fantastic" and postmodern concepts break with common patterns of Reaganism reflected in these films? While many critics rightly cite the numerous elements in these films that appear to reinforce fundamental message points underlying Reaganism, this study demonstrates how the films' characters and plot lines also serve to reveal the inherent and irreconcilable incoherence of the sociopolitical and sociocultural tenets of Reaganism.

So amazing to have a piece of the magic at home!

I am absolutely in love! Living in the US this is about as close as I can get to seeing all of the magical items at the House of MinaLima. I adore all of the pull outs and it really brings the movie and the magic into your home. The whole book is just art in itself. I didn't even know about it and saw it on the MinaLima instagram and knew I had to have it. It's perfect for any Harry Potter fan. My brain is on overload flipping through the pages. ALSO: I LEGITIMATELY NEED TO KNOW IF I CAN SUBMIT THIS APPLICATION FOR WAND PERMIT!!! Please? Ha ha. Love the book and the movies and it's amazing to have a piece of the magic at home.

I haven't actually watched the movie yet but when I noticed that this book was designed by MinaLima, this was an instant buy for me. I was certainly not disappointed. I loved the work they did in the harry potter films and this is not an exception. I love the posters, the inserts and everything about it!

Alapati is the Senior Technical Director of Miro Consulting, Inc., where he advises customers on the architecture and implementation of various Oracle technologies, including Oracle Fusion Middleware. He has spent more than 20 years architecting, building, and managing complex Oracle database-based solutions for clients such as NBC, AT&T, Sabre, and the Boy Scouts of America. Superb reference for WebLogic server

Oracle has adopted WebLogic Server as its middleware platform. Release 12.2 of the e-Business Suite (as well as Fusion Applications) will use WebLogic as its middleware technology stack. To say that WebLogic is a significant departure from the Oracle Application Server (OAS) is a gross understatement. WebLogic is architected differently and has an incredible amount of functionality that OAS does not. Oracle's WebLogic documentation, while thorough, is overwhelming for all but the most intrepid of administrators and developers. This is not due to any fault of Oracle's, mind you - it's just the sheer volume of documentation that makes it difficult for anyone using the products in the stack to quickly find and understand what they're looking for.

To the rescue comes this book. Of the WebLogic books available (I've read Wrox's Professional Oracle WebLogic Server, O'Reily's WebLogic: The Definitive Guide and Wiley's Mastering BEA WebLogic Server), Mr. Alapati's is the only one I found to have:

1) A logical organization of topics
2) Enough time spent on the "whys" (as well as the "hows")
3) Up-to-date information (O'Reily's and Wiley's books are pretty long in the tooth and contain no Oracle-specific information)
4) The restraint to not go off into a million different tangets (example: Chapter 4 is an excellent reference for setting up JMS in WebLogic *without* padding the book with page after page on what JMS actually *is* - there's plenty of other books and resources on the web for that) and
5) Just the right amount of information regarding WLST (WebLogic Scripting Language) - while not covered in detail, anyone with scripting knowledge will be able to use WLST in a very short period of time.

Overall, I found the structure very well organized (allowing me to find tasks quickly), Mr. Alapati's writing style to be very smooth and easy to read and the steps for performing tasks in WebLogic server to be complete without being too granular (some areas could have used more screen shots, but that's a minor quibble). Overall, highly recommended.

Simply a must-read for any Weblogic Administrator

Sam Alapati is a grand-master in his own realm; He has done it again; Yet, another feather in his accolade-filled hat!

Ranging from Comprehensive Concepts Overview, Installation, Administration, Configuration, Setting up the environment, HA/Clusters, Security, Performance Tuning, Tech. Deep Dive & a whole lot more, this book covers ALL/relevant areas of administration.

I would recommend this book as a MUST-READ for the Weblogic Administrator to learn for-the-first-time, as well as enhance & improve their existing skills.

A must read....

I think the book shares a valuable knowledge for professional who wants to get in to weblogic server admin chair as well as consultants, developer who likes to get familiar with typical concepts of weblogic world.

I have this is in my shelf and this book helped me to tune my current weblogic environment and i definitely this a recommend read and i hope you will get this too.
