Enjoyed reading this book

Enjoyed reading this book. I live in West Virginia.Fort Seybert was approximately 40 minutes away from my home. Our West Virginia history books taught us about Killbuck in our Middle Schools.
One of our family members found out that our ancestors was at Fort Seybert on that dreadful day. Our great great great great grandfather William Heavner. Our great great great grandmother was a Seybert.
Every year the people in the Upper Tract area have a Treasure Mountain festival. They reenact the attack including the burning of the fort.

If you have historical interest in that tumultuous period I whole-heartedly recommend it.

Along with realistic descriptions, based on much apparent research; the author was able to depict incredible strength among the survivors.
As a descendant of the Reger family, weaker more human qualities are brought out by the author. I didn't mind, as a balance. And, it is a novel after all. If you have historical interest in that tumultuous period I whole-heartedly recommend it.

I became engrossed in this story and because the author shows the thoughts and emotions on both sides of the tragic events, I was rooting for all of them and couldn't wait to see how it turned out. If you liked the book, Follow the River, you'll like this!
